Course Overview
The Certificate in Health Care Assistant (HCA) is a foundational, competency-based program that prepares learners to become Health Care Assistants, Home-Based Care Support Assistants, Caregivers, Patient Attendants, and Nursing Assistants capable of delivering safe, compassionate, and supportive care in homes, hospitals, clinics, nursing facilities, and community health environments.
Learners acquire essential skills in patient hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, repositioning, communication, safety, and supportive care procedures. The course also trains students to observe and report patient concerns to nurses and other healthcare professionals, ensuring continuity of care and patient safety.
